Jon is at work, and may have to stay at a hotel next to his office tonight.
I’ve already folded laundry, vacuumed, sorted summer clothes and packed them away, cleaned out the fridge, and cooked breakfast. Apparently hurricanes = productivity in the apartment.
Just took a walk around the neighborhood to see what’s up. Major notes: no one is on the road, the line for Garden of Eden is out the door, and liquor stores are still open (hurricane mimosas!).
Public schools were already closed for tomorrow. I’m waiting to hear about my school, but I’m pretty sure it’s safe to say that either way, our field trip to the Long Island coast is off for tomorrow.
The storm is set to hit land right at our family’s shore house in NJ. Keep your fingers crossed for it, please.
Things I love: NYC, baking, classic movies, puns and sarcasm, wine and a properly made Manhattan, jumping in puddles, crosswords, giraffes, my graduate program in museum education, books that draw you in and don't let go, the Sunday NYTimes, laundry right out of the dryer, and pizza. Oh, and shoes. I really, really love shoes.
