The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly: Teacher Edition

The Good: This morning, two of our girls brought us homemade chocolate chip cookies they made at their playdate yesterday. They were wrapped up carefully with a bow, with the sweetest notes about how they made them for “the best teachers.” (Then they explained how they’re going to open a cookie store in Brazil, because there’s a market and need for them there.)

The Bad: One of our students has already gotten in trouble for “inappropriate conversations” of a sexual nature, and made a really poor decision earlier in the week in dealing with a female peer. We’ve spent the rest of the week dealing with it. And one of our students almost certainly has childhood depression, and it is the saddest thing to witness.

The Ugly: A kid lost a tooth in his sandwich today, and walked up to me holding a bloody, half-chewed sandwich. With blood still coming from his mouth, he explained he was looking for his tooth…

All in a day’s work, folks. Happy Friday.
