Bachelorette party last Friday was an absolute blast. Until my friend decided to sit on a table and broke a glass with her ass, and I ended up with her and another friend at the emergency room from 2am until 6am. She managed to create a gapping hole of a cut in her upper thigh and got about 11 stitches. I won’t tell you about her completely incompetent intern-doctor, or the experience of going to an ER in full bachelorette-garb, but suffice to say, it made a good story. (I’ll also spare you the pics of her wound, but if you’re into that stuff, email me. It’s a doozy.)
I replaced my lost iPhone with a temporary used Droid that I bought for $60. The new iPhone is set to come out soon, so I didn’t want to invest in the 4S, but needed something for the interim. Also, I realized how much blogging I was doing with my iPhone— so the next few months may be quiet from me. How did I used to do this with a Blackberry?!
I’m in CT this week for a work conference. I’m by myself in a quiet area, so a little bored. But I have a pool and a one-bedroom suite at my disposal, so it’s not all bad.
Watching a ton of Olympics. Yay Gaby Douglas! Poor McKayla! Michael Phelps, you’re amazing, and Lochte, well, you’re really, really pretty. So is the men’s water polo team.
Jon and I leave Friday for a few days in Seattle and Portland. I am looking forward to heading back to a city I love, and exploring a new one!
I thought I was done traveling for the summer, but my friend is doing a good job convincing me to go to her family’s lake house in Cali for Labor Day. They’re selling the house after this, and there’s always a crazy lake party with everyone that weekend, so I may be swayed.
School starts in under a month and I’m already getting anxious/nervous/excited. I’m also going to relish any remaining mornings to sleep in.
Things I love: NYC, baking, classic movies, puns and sarcasm, wine and a properly made Manhattan, jumping in puddles, crosswords, giraffes, my graduate program in museum education, books that draw you in and don't let go, the Sunday NYTimes, laundry right out of the dryer, and pizza. Oh, and shoes. I really, really love shoes.
