Part of the fun things I get to do this week: Surprise my dad at Wrigley Field for Father’s Day.
My grandfather lives out in Chicago, as well as my dad’s fantastic cousin Marie, who takes care of him a bunch. My parents were visiting Papa this weekend for Father’s Day, and Marie had the idea to get both of them to a Cubs game together (not an easy feat for a 93 year old). “What time does your flight get in? Any way you could meet us?” The stars aligned, and without my dad knowing anything, I rolled into the stadium yesterday to surprise him. I had even called from the baggage claim at O’Hare that morning “about to go to brunch with Jon but just calling to wish him a Happy’s Father’s Day!” There were tears, and I’m pretty sure the people around us got as much of a kick out of the surprise as we did! It was such a great evening, and definitely one to remember.
