Thank you, Beyonce.
“Mommy, mommy, can I tell you something? Caroline told me that a boy on the playground said that boys run the world. But he hasn’t heard the song, because it’s girls who run the world. And we can do anything we want because we are in charge. He should really listen to the song so he knows that.” - the 4 year old next to me on the subway

Saturday was for craft beer tasting on a boat, rooftop snacks, and dinner at Kin Shop. And while Sunday plans were up in the air for a while, Jon and I decided that one sail was just not...

Hypothetical question, real answers wanted:
Here is the situation: you have been asked to teach a six-week class for high school students (on a Saturday, so these are mostly kids who love to learn) on any topic in American history. It should cover something they normally wouldn’t get in their school history class, and needs to be focused enough so that you can really cover it in the 6 weeks (ie, don’t try to teach all of womens...

Mousecapades Update: I can't even.
On Saturday, I caught a mouse. On Saturday night, I caught another mouse. On Sunday, I heard squeaking as I was trying to read in my apartment. And on Monday, I found more proof they were running around my kitchen. I have spent the last two nights with a friend who is house-sitting nearby and the thought of spending time in my apartment is giving me heart palpitations. I stay up at night...

Mousecapades Update: He's still at large.
However, there has been no sign of him in the traps and no sign of him in the apartment for 2 days. Maybe he left the city for the long weekend like everyone else?
