~ one of my students, discussing matzos
This honestly sparked one of the largest lunchtime debates I have seen all year.
Perspective.
For the past few years, the day after Easter has been a lucky one for me.
Two years ago, on the Monday after Easter, I was accepted into my graduate school program. I had been stuck in a job that left me feeling completely empty and unhappy, and this was, essentially, the best news I could have gotten. I cried like a baby.
Last year, on the Monday after Easter, I was offered my first job as a...
Just call me Suzy Sunshine. Or something like...
As I already shared, today wasn’t the best. And though it’s very easy to focus on the negative, I’m going to try looking on the bright side…-ish.
Things that can make a day better?
sweatpants
an easy commute home
a hug from a kid
cheese
crossing something off your to-do list
a drink (or two)
a day off from work tomorrow

Gossip Girl Monday!!
As if I wasn’t excited enough to begin with, now they had to go and create this trailer. Who will Blair choose? The Prince, The Pauper, or the Dark Knight?

Things this weekend will include:
all sweatpants, all the time
Harry Potter 7 on dvd
Aubrey’s famous guacamole

“When people say, ‘how do you do it?’ it can sound like, ‘how could you do it?’ and there’s this thing that women have made with each other: when you’re a stay-at-home mom, you pretend that it’s really boring, even though it’s enriching and fulfilling. And when you’re a working mother, you pretend that you feel guilty all day, even though...

What constitutes a "chick flick"?
Up until recently, I assumed that a chick flick was a movie with a romance at the center of the story, meant to appeal to female viewers.
But then I rewatched “Morning Glory,” which I would consider a chick flick, even though there really was no emphasis on the love story within it. And then there are movies that do focus on romances, that I would not necessarily say are chick...

Steph to the rescue! (Or: Why can't I reblog...
I asked Steph- food lover, blogger extraordinaire at HayGirlHay, and often the reason that I’m hungry before 11am - for some recipe advice. The parameters? Good for a group, not too many ingredients (it will be during a weekend away), and healthy(-ish). Here are her awesome ideas!
Asparagus, goat cheese, and lemon pasta - if you need or want to add meat, sliced chicken sausage works...
