Pardon a little rant...
Tomorrow starts my New Job training! Yay, right? Well, it should have been.
My week started with several phone calls from New School saying that they neglected to take care of my paperwork, as it “fell through the cracks.” Commence sigh. I had been wondering why I never got an official Welcome from the school, but when I asked those I was in contact about it, they all assured me not...
Portrait of a Lady
Somewhere along the way, I started receiving Real Simple magazine in the mail and I am really enjoying reading it every month. While I often like their recipes and helpful tips for mundane stuff (I now know how to make cut flowers last longer and the fastest way to ice a cupcake), but often don’t think of them as fashion gurus.
But. BUT! This month featured a fashion spread called,...

Dinner Party
On Tuesday, I had some friends over for dinner. With work starting next week, I’m trying to catch up with everyone and make the most of having a little more free time before the craziness of teaching sets in.
On the menu?
Chicken roasted with fresh herbs (parsley, sage, rosemary, thyme) and lemon. Cooked in little steam packets and opened at the table…
Zucchini and leeks,...

Today I'm loving...
cooking a goat cheese and tomato sauce for fresh ravoli, creating the recipe as I go along.
Music playing, wooden spoon in one hand, red wine in the other, and a good friend on her way to catch up…I’m in my happy place.

"You look swelegant."
As if I didn’t already love Mad Men, they had to go and make up an amazing new word to add to my lexicon.
You know what makes for an awesome Sunday?
Buying a bottle of prosecco with your girlfriends right as the liquor store opens. Taking that bottle into a Starbucks bathroom, popping the cork, and making mimosas in water bottles. Taking said water bottle mimosas into the movie theater to ogle Zac Efron in “Charlie St. Cloud.” Then staying for “Despicable Me,” playing right next door.
Perhaps not the classiest way to...

Onto the next big thing.
Jonathan and the guys did not get the news they wanted the other night. The winners of the contest was a band whose members all work for an Evangelical megachurch in Michigan (not saying anything against those who are religious, but when you have over 15,000 people in your church community, they can do some voting damage).
It may not have been the result they wanted, but I’m so proud of...
Anticipation.
Voting ends today at 5pm.
Jonathan and the guys find out tonight if they won. They may be flying out to LA for several weeks in 48 hours. They may be back to work in their offices tomorrow.
Today is for anticipation. For anxious pacing. For trying to keep busy with other things, and failing.
Today is for being ready for anything, and celebrating no matter what.
zomg, I just walked past Ben Linus on the street!!
He was with his wife walking on my block, and as I looked at him, he nodded and said “good evening.” Then someone running after them said that she had forgotten her purse, so they walked back past me (as i, um, may have stood there staring just realizing who this was, but don’t worry, I played it all cool by pretending i was on my phone…hah).
In hindsight, I should have...

annanacho asked: My Toms gave me blisters as well (back of the heel). I'm just going to chalk it up to them being new and needing a little wear to stretch out and become less stiff.
