Greatest Hits
Well, the night was awesome to say the least! Liz and I hit up all our favorite places (well, several of them) and ate and drank some of our top items in the city. I soon won’t have as much opportunity to visit these places as often, so I soaked up every minute and enjoyed it even more.
Highlights of the night:
- seeing Obama’s official car brigade. Apparently he was heading up to...

These fall under my: Must Make ASAP Collection. I’d like to try dipping half of the cracker in chocolate for a little added decadence. Wrap them up with a pretty bow and they also would make a lovely gift.

The drama, “A Steady Rain” by Keith Huff, is about two Chicago cops whose lifelong friendship is put to the test when they become involved in a domestic dispute in a poor neighborhood.
My mom emailed this to me this morning saying only “We are getting tickets for this one.”
I think she has a google alert set up for Hugh Jackman’s name.

Now I delete the email immediately when it comes in each week because it’s too painful to actually read all of these amazing deals that I can’t take advantage of right now. Then, about 20 minutes later, I inevitably go into my Trash and read them anyway. And think about adventures that would take me far, far from a computer screen. Then I close the email, and return to work. Every...

1. You are at least ten times prettier than you think you are. That holds true no matter how pretty you already think you are! Don’t believe me? Ask your mother/auntie/grannie if she thought she was pretty when she was twenty. She’ll say no. Then find a photo of her at that age. See what I mean?
Love this! My favorite:

How would people make small talk if we couldn't...
Personal challenge: don’t bring up the weather for a whole day. Ride the elevator, wait in line, say hello to front desk men, talk to acquaintences - but for the love of god, no weather talk for 24 hours. There has to be SOMETHING else otherwise unrelated people can think of to chat about.
Where do you guys go for good ice cream in NYC?
I’m talking like good, homemade, big scoops of hard ice cream. Not gelato, or sorbet, or Pinkberry, or fancy gourmet stuff - I know where to go for that (try Ronnybrook or the Gelateria in Chelsea Market). But the good stuff that you used to get as a kid. Does it exist in the city?

Something about the shore air makes me dream much more vividly. Or maybe I’m just relaxed. I don’t know. But so far this weekend, I have dreamt that:
- My mom told me my favorite boutique at the shore had changed owners. It was so vivid that I was sure it was real. When I asked her about it the next day, she looked at me like I had two heads. - I was at a BBQ at my middle school best...

One Piece of Advice for College Girls
meghanasha:
[Written by Chiara Atik]
If I had to give one piece of advice for college girls it would be this: Buy a decent looking pair of pajamas. Sure, you should major in something you love, not just in something you think will ultimately look good on a resume. Of course, you should go abroad. It goes without saying that you should try to meet as many people as you can, because it’ll never...

Next to Normal
I saw it before it went to Broadway, and while I’d really love to see it again now that it made the move, I don’t know if my tear ducts could take it. Of course, that doesn’t stop me from watching clips at work…and still tearing up. I tell ya, it’s like a moth to a light, and it doesn’t leave you.
Good morning.
I was just drinking my coffee when the top popped off and coffee spilled (spilt?) all over my lap. Of course, I then try to take a picture of it so all of you can share in my misery, only to find out that my camera battery is dead. So I guess you just have to trust me: the damage is ugly.
We don’t make mistakes, we just have happy little accidents.
